Hello, my name is Esther!

I am a neurodivergent teaching artist especially skilled in working with neurodivergent children.

Looking for a tutor? Theatre or writing teacher?Nanny/sitter? Personal assistant?

Like many people with ADHD, I like to switch it up, and for a long time, I struggled to understand how to build a sustainable life for myself that allowed me the freedom to follow my ever-growing pool of passions. And like all people, I still have things to figure out, but what I have learned is to treat my differences as direction. We all have our own unique ways of thinking, feeling, and doing, and we are all special. It’s just that some of us fit widely known and well-lit life paths, and some of us do not. For those of us on the roads less traveled, it can get a little a hard to find our ways, especially when we keep being handed maps for the wrong routes. What I have found is that I do best when I follow my own compass because it might look wonky, but it knows what I want, which makes it most qualified to give me directions.

This is why I have so many skills to offer! I have worked as a teaching artist(specifically playwriting and theatre), tutor, nanny/sitter(for people, pets, plants, and homes as well), personal assistant & aid, and more. The services that I am offering thru this website are what I have listed here and under the Services tab. At the root of all my passion is caregiving and artistic expression, and this is the work that brings those two into my life in the most fulfilling ways.

Whichever of these kinds of assistance that you are needing,

I can help,

and I want to.

What they say about me…

“Esther Reeves is an exceptional family helper/tutor/babysitter and nanny. She works with structure while being kind and interesting. She embraces hard tasks like getting kids to activities and to do homework and is effective at task completion. She’s also a very interesting artist and thinker, and is generous about appropriately sharing her process if kids are interested. She’s reliable and communicative, and I can’t recommend her enough.”

“I implore anyone who wants a good pet sitter to contact Esther. She watched my cat as well as my roomie’s cat over Christmas break last year(2024), and she goes all out in terms of making sure your pets are taken care of. Very reliable, goes above and beyond what’s asked of her, and also has a super vibrant personality as well, among many other things! 10/10 would recommend!”

-Danny Pascal

"Esther cat sits for my household and is awesome! She was really proactive about sending updates and cute cat pics playing with our cats while we were out of town. I highly recommend her to everyone and I am looking forward to going out of town again so we can have her back!"

“For nearly a decade, Esther has been our GoTo for house/pet sitting. Then, around 2019, I needed more help with my mother. Though mostly independent, Mom’s age was starting to show at 83.  On top of that, I had a schedule that was getting increasingly more difficult to navigate while also trying to be available  to my mother for daily activities: shopping, errands, even just company. In a panic one day, I called Esther, counting myself lucky that she could be there. The luck only grew and kept giving over the years. Esther could tag team with me for doctor visits, take mom to the bank, take mom to lunch. Above and beyond everything,  Esther helped mom feel less lonely. That was truly the greatest gift I could ask for – it was a priceless service to me. My mom loved to tell stories and Esther loved to listen. It was the biggest breath of relief for me to have that trust for someone to be with my mom.”

“I have one incredible, neuro-spicy child who absolutely ADORES Esther. We have used a few sitters over the past couple of years, but Esther is by far our number-one choice. Esther is a game-changer in caregiving. I knew she would be a great fit the first time I hired her. She walked in with vibrant blue hair and an infectious smile, and my child's eyes widened as she took Esther's hand and led her through the house, introducing her to our zoo of animals. While my partner and I enjoyed an evening out, Esther spent quality time with my daughter, playing games and creating art, and she even helped her with homework. Before the evening ended, I received a complete summary of the night, including a few helpful observations about my child's current emotional state (We were undergoing a few changes to our family dynamic.). Esther has been a life-saver on multiple occasions. I love her, and so does my daughter. If you are looking for someone to bring into your circle of trust, Esther is definitely the one.”
